Guitarist Mendel bij de Leij has been a huge part of the core sound of Aborted for the past 5 years. Having won multiple national awards, he raised the bar for the metal scene elite. Alongside Aborted, Mendel’s self titled solo project has been one of the groundbreaking progressive metal/neo-classical music without being stuck in the 80’s.

Mendel continues breaking barriers and expanding to new grounds with Aborted and more, and his holy trinity? His Carillion “bats”, his tone and… donuts.
